Grace Internet Radios

I get my internet via cable, but use a wireless modem hooked up to my wife's desktop computer to transmit to my laptop computer in another room.

My tech ability is almost non-existent, but I gather that I can use a Grace radio, which will pick up its signal from the wireless modem. Right? My fear is that it will be very difficult to get the Grace radio and the wireless modem to "talk" to each other. I had trouble getting the PC to hookup, but finally did.

My other question is, once hooked up, does the Grace Radio locate all available FM stations, or do I have to do that via my computer?
  • I use a CC WI FI radio made by CC Crane in Oregon. I get all the services you are looking for. Cost is about $100.

Well. if they are on your computer, Did you record them off the air, or off the internet.. If off the internet, then there is a chance it might work.

Blue tooth works if your computer supports it.. If it does not TARGUS, among others, make a USB blue tooth transponder This will let you connect to B/T headpones, ear pieces, speakers, keyboards, mice, microphones and such.. I recently picked up a "Bluetooth Geni" Blue tooth RECEIVER, With this I can take a set of Amplified speakers like a Logictec computer speaker and make them into BlueTooth speakers Or I can feed my dash radio, my car's dash radios, my Pinoeer Home Theater or any other device with a LINE IN jack.

Also I have a small FM-Transmitter lying about somewhere (in the car I think) if you are not parked in an area where the dial is packed solid these work well to send audio a hundred feet give or take a bit. Very nice. Any FM radio works as the "Speaker" with these.

Here is an example 12 bucks worth.

  • You can get THOUSANDS of streaming radio stations thru a free app called TuneIn Radio, available both for Android and Apple products such as Android phone, Iphone, Windows phone, Blackberry, Ipad, Android tablets, Amazon Kindle, etc.

Grace Radio connects with like 18,000 stations too.
  • You could try a bluetooth rechargeable speaker for your computer. I use it with my computer, tablet, and even cellphone.

Netflix, Pandora, coversation speakerphone, too. I paid about $25 on sale.
  • Thanks, wa8yxm, guess it's not for me then. I wanted to listen to conservative talk shows that are on my computer, but not very loud and can't move around the room. Doubt they would pick up my shows. You saved me some money; I was about to order the darned thing.

Grace "Radio" is not radio, it is internet streaming audio, Like Pandora, Slacker Radio, Live-365.. and I (heart symbol) Radio, and many others it is a streaming internet audio service. So it not only does not locate all the AM/FM radio stations, It CAN NOT receive them, since it is not a radio.

    It is an internet device.

Now, that said. I have no idea what stations that Grace offers.. I myself used to subscribe to Live 365 but today their prices are a tad .. high.

I do subscribe to Pandora One.. And enjoy it. When I have a lock on the park Wi-Fi, or am connected to T-mobile 4G (or even edge) it works well and I've got a selection of "Stations" I really like.

So you will likely not get local Broadcast stations news and weather (You might, if they stream via Grace or one of the services it uses) but you WILL get music you like.

If you like Classical, point your browser to www.classicalmusicamerica.com.. Do not know if it's still there.. But I've had coffee with a few of the voices you hear from time to time.
