HP Notebook keyboard quit working

Running Win7. Touchpad & on-screen kybd work fine. Any ideas?
  • I'm sure you did a total shut down, battery removal and reinsert, and restart?
  • Typically, you might run into this issue if your BIOS needs updating. Try this:

    This is a simple fix.
You will need your product number.
    Go to:
    www.hp.com/go/contacthp
    enter your product number.
click on the updates and drivers. Update your BIOS, when you have finished
    you must REBOOT

    This should solve it.
  • How old is the notebook? Sometimes they just quit. Make sure you have the maintenance manual downloaded and search the internet for a replacement keyboard. They're fairly cheap and it should take about 1 hr to swap out. Make sure you have a good set of jeweler's screwdrivers.
  • TucsonJim,

The BIOS update worked and I am back in business. Thank you so much. Good luck with your truck.
  • Good news Rangerider. Just picked the truck up and it's running good!
