I really try to support CampingWorld.

I went to CW to purchase thread to restring a broken fanfold shade. I knew CW Valencia had a display of repair shade products in the rear. But a special trip to Valencia was fruitless. The display was where I last saw it, but it was decimated. A whole endcap with half a dozen spots empty and the rest in disarray. I am sure this understock did not occur in just the last week-month-extended period. Some person is not maintaining floor stock. I did purchase chemical while there, but I used your $10 gift certificate. Thank you. I have complained about CW Valencia in the past; they don't answer their phone, they don't maintain floor stock, and they often don't know what they are talking about. But really, the shelf tags are in place, the display is in place, all it would take is a person with an optical ordering gun and you would have a well equipped one stop RV destination.
Just venting, as I am not privy to the CW business model.

  • Perhaps the display is maintained by the vendor, not the store. This is a very common situation. Greeting cards come to mind.
  • BTW- You can order everything you need to fix those better than new, including the threading tool online. I've done all mine and carry everything needed to do all of them at least once more, although it probably won't be needed.

    The universal CW kit is nice but I would consider it more of a emergency temp fix
  • As above, the Valencia store was completely closed down, and the major stuff that sells was moved to the 1st bay in the garage while the store was completely gutted. I was in there just before xmas and asked how long they expected to be out there since they had no heat whatsoever (and it was pretty cold that day)? They said they expected the store to reopen about 1/2 waythrough January (which I doubted looking through the window since demo was still going on).

    Thats why it looks like it does right now.

    Answering the phone is definitely a problem tho..
  • I have not been there in a few months, but last time I was there they had the retail area in construction demo mode, and all the stock had been moved out to a few service bays. Is the stuff back in the retail area? If it is, maybe they have not stocked it yet. I have always good results in the retail section, the Service Department, well they could do away with it and I would not loose sleep over it.
