Just PM'd the thread originator. The 2012 Nexus 7 is on sale this morning for $99 New. For Kids, my second choice would be the previous edition Amazon 7" Kindle. The new HDX is nice. However, the previous edition was dual core with decent screen. The Parental Controls work great. It's also alot cheaper. I think normal price is near $138 new. It was on sale the other day for $118. I bought my daughters 8.9" Kindle from a local store (Fred Meyers) that had a much cheaper insurance policy than Amazon.
