My kid has an iPod Touch (bought in 2010, 4th gen?) and I have a Nexus 7 (2013 model).
Unless it needs to fit in a pocket for walking around, there is NO situation where I wouldn't choose the Nexus as a gift for my kid.
But you are not a kid. The OP is buying the device for a kid!
I agree adult use go Nexus but for a kid the touch maybe the better way to go.
I thought it was inferred. But, I guess not.
The whole portability issue makes the touch more kid friendly. Adults may have a place other than a pocket to store things a kid generally doesn't.
Do you see your kid carrying the Nexus around in their hand the entire time?
Only because you've been on this board as long as I have will I respond again. I've already said twice, now for the third time
"Unless it needs to fit in a pocket for walking around".
Although I think I've already implied it multiple times now, I'll answer your question with "no" I don't see my kid walking around with a Nexus. But, since my family has both, and an iPad Mini and two 10" iPads I believe I'm in a position to answer the OP with my opinion. And our opinions is what OP asked for in the first place.
And I'm sticking by my original statement that the Nexus is a better choice for a kid (or anyone for that matter) than an iPod Touch. Can we let this go, now?
