New Folder in window 10

I never transferred over to the WINDOWs 10 email. I am still using my 2007 MS OUTLOOK program. No problems with it running under WINDOWs 10.. I just moved a couple of EMAIL FOLDERs around this morning as I had a couple of duplicates. All worked fine...

Actually I am only using the WIN10 EDGE for playing the YUKON card game. I am still using FIREFOX and GOOGLE CHROME for my main web browsers. One of these days I should check out WIN10 EDGE and see if it works any better than what I already was using...

Just got a whole bunch of MS UPDATES including a couple for WIN10 in the past few days and all is still working... Guess I can say "I am good" like they say on Hawaii 5-0..

My last WIN10 update changed the way I shutdown for some reason... When I select SHUTDOWN now from the task page it closes out everything and all but the very far left light on my LAPTOP stays ON and although it is all shut down my LAPTOP is still running my external fan tray it sits on (plugged into a USB port). I have to open the lid and use the power button to completely shut it down. I also cannot use the RESTART COMMAND from the keyboard/external computer screen. It completely shuts down but never comes back on automatically - I have to push the ON button on the LAPTOP to get it to come back on. I use my LAPTOP with the lid closed all the the time and run external 24-inch monitors, sound speakers, and keyboard/mouse etc... Never open the lid to the laptop except to start up by pushing the power button. Now I have to open it again to completely turn it OFF by pushing the same power button. That all changed after I got a previous WIN10 upgrade... All of this may be OPTION settings but all the ones I found that I thought had anything to do with POWER ON setting didn't help anything...

No big deal - it all still works great for me...

To what are you trying to add a folder? To put a folder on your desktop you just right click a blank space, click NEW and then FOLDER.
It has to be something more you are looking for.

Win10 file explorer has a configurable button on the top line in the window. Just click on the pull down arrow and check the new folder box and it will always be there.

There isn't anyway to add a new folder within the Mail app at this time. I use Outlook.com so I have the option to login to the website and add a new folder from there. Your email service may have a way to add a folder directly on their server via a web interface or their own client.

Open a gmail account. Forward all your email to it. In Gmail settings set up your reply preferences to use your current email address. Use the Inbox by Gmail app and/or web page. You'll never want to use any other email app again.

Only caveat to forwarding is that you need to log into the old account now and again so that the provider doesn't close it as inactive.

Ugh! Can't stand gmail but I would choose it over the email app in Win 10.

I don't know about forwarding as I never do that, but I download email (via POP) from several email accounts to my gmail account with no problem. Downloading via POP does login to the account though.

As to strollin hating gmail, I am just the opposite. I prefer it to any other email client I have used.

As far as the subject of this thread, I don't know if the OP is referring to Windows folders or Email client folders but gmail does allow "folders" but they are called "labels". I am a big user of labels in gmail.

I hate it too. I've been using Outlook.com which is far better. But the new "Inbox by Gmail" app is excellent and makes email a piece of cake.

That works for adding an account to a phone or tablet but for some reason the "Inbox by Gmail" app doesn't work with external POP or IMAP accounts. That's why I had start forwarding my email to my gmail account.

There is always Thunderbird, but various Exchange providers have various levels of compatibility with it. I have several where I can read and organize folders via IMAP... but sending E-mail via SMTP... no way... so I save it as a draft in T-Bird, switch to Outlook or use their web interface to send it.
