I purchased a ZTE Valet Tracfone. Phone was ok but Tracfone service was lousy. Activated the phone via computer using a tracfone card, but phone would not connect to internet. Returned phone to Walmart and bought another ZTE Valet and another activation card. Same problem. Called tracfone customer service and was ping ponged from one poorly trained person to another. Very difficult to understand with heavy accents. Gave up and went with Consumer Cellular and samsung galaxy exhilerate phone and $24 month plan talk/text/data. Very satisfied. Also i think tracfone is only 3G network.

Just of of curiosity, what mobile network as the ZTE Valet activated on? Tracphone has contracts with all the four major operators: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

Walmart just put the ZTE Valet on sale today for $39.95. Really like mine better every day that I use it.
Yep, I've really been enjoying my Valet too. It'll be interesting to see which makes/models Tracfone releases next. I expect 4G data is still quite a ways off though.

Typically, Tracfone models ending with a 'G' use AT&T or T-Mobile's GSM networks depending on your purchase location, and those ending with a 'C' use Verizon's CDMA network. All of the current Tracfone Android smartphones use Verizon's CDMA and 3G data.

I have my Samsung Android phone (recent model) through Verizon directly. I grumble and complain every month when it comes time to pay the high fees for their plan. My wife has TracFone at a lot less. When we go camping, sometimes my wife's phone works but my Samsung almost ALWAYS works. The network coverage differences amaze me. So I grumble every month when I write out the check to Verizon, but I have a little satisfaction when I think of the network service coverages and performance that I typically get.
