Poor Wi FI at most RV parks

It is very reasonable to assume that if the OP KNEW all the potential pitfalls caused by the technical issues associated with a wide area wifi system, they would also know the answer to their very specific question. To just assume they knew all the possible reasons for a problem with wifi and just narrowed it down to needing a booster would most likely lead to solutions that caused the OP to purchase a semi-expensive gadget that would be mostly useless in solving the real problem. In this case, a true "repeater" should be placed between (optimally halfway, unless multiple repeaters are being strung together) the access point and the device that needs to be connected. I don't think following your suggestion (i.e. telling them Ubiquiti makes a high quality repeater) would be helping them at all since a true repeater is not what they need.

For those that do not realize it, there are a lot of folks that do not know that there are two sides to this problem. Answering a question with a specificly requested answer, when you know there is more to the equations, really does not help the requester. There is nothing wrong with adding information. And it is not about showing how smart you are. It is about providing good and thourough information that can help not only with the immediate problem but with the problem that the immediate solution will create.

A network has a several componenets that many do not understand and think it is as simple as apply a USB dohicky.

I would agree that a MIFI through Verizon (after testing it around the country) it is THE BEST SOLUTION for on the road Internet.

This is true. Go with a combination. The above and a Mifi. If the CG signal is strained, you can redirect the repeater to the Mifi. Could help keep you under your data limit.

The combination of my own data plan and using the CG Internet connection when available through my repeater is what I do and it works out quite well.

With cell phones the higher frequency bands have a harder time working inside buildings and such. The signals don't have enough punch to get thru obstacles like walls. WiFi also runs in bands that are high frequency - 2.5 and 5GHz. I'm guessing that most campground operators probably don't bother sticking an antenna outside facing where the campers park. They probably just set up the WiFi unit close to their computer and figure, well it works here so it must be OK for the campers.

When I first set up my WiFi at home it ran on a computer in a back bedroom and I was lucky to even see it in other rooms in the house, and outside there was nothing. I bought a cheap WiFi antenna with a 15' cable and mounted the antenna on the ceiling near the center of the house and now I get good reception except outside where it's iffy.

I have a Pepwave SOHO just for this purpose. Talk to the people at 3G Store. They are very helpful. I also had a WiFi Ranger when they first came on the market but it was not ready for prime time so I talked to the people at 3G and got some very good suggestions.

Well I don't have a mega million rig but I do pony up for reliable Internet service. I use campground "Free" Internet if I can and use my own plan when it is not available.

I really get bugged when everyone mentions "Free" Internet service provided by the campground. It is just as free as the water and electricity is. Folks the costs are all rolled into the campground rates along with their profit margin. As my auditing professor used to say..."Folks there 'Ain't' no free lunch."

When they start listing water and electric as "complimentary" it would make about as much sense as "complimentary" Internet.

Bandwidth is part of his problem even if he doesn't realize it.

I switched to VERZION MIFI that is added to my cell phone account. It is actually listed on my invoice as a cell phone number. This only gives me a 3GB secured MONTHLY DATAPLAN but is available to use for up to five of my WIFI enabled devices. VERIZON has larger dataplans available.

I have a Verizon account with 10 gigs for my data plan. I can activate my phone as a WIFI hotspot by going to SETTINGS/MORE NETWORKS/MOBILE HOTSPOT and turn it on. It allows up to 10 devices to connect.
