Rv Route & GPS Nav (Droid App)

Has anyone used this subscription based GPS app?

Is it worth it?

Does it constantly use data?

Thanks!
  • I'd consider one of the offline GPS apps like Co Pilot, or Sygic. Or simply stick with the very free Google Maps app. Why spend all that subscription money?
  • Co-Pilot has height settings. It doesn't cost a lot and the only subscription is if you want the live traffic portion. It loads the maps onto your device and uses no data if you are not using the traffic feature. I have been very happy with it so far.
  • X2 on CoPilot - lifetime maps included. Try the free version just to check it out but to get auto-rerouting and 3D map, get the premium app for only $10. Set the height and if you want propane restriction routing in RV Mode and you are good to go. Maps are updated a couple of times a year.

If you want traffic routing, there is a subscription for $10 a year and traffic uses data - but very little. I don't see any significant data usage after a five hour trip - barely noticeable. Traffic is included for the first year with the premium app.
  • Question on CoPilot...

I installed it and played with it a bit.

I noticed for the RV preferance, it says *No Restrictions, 12'6" and 13'*

If I select 13', what does this mean exactly?

ie will it not route me thru anyplace that does not have clearance for 13'
Is there any way to change it to 13'6" ?

    Thanks!
