RV Wanderlust Travels Map...

Today I noticed a map that shows up when I go to My Places in google maps. It is called "RV Wanderlust Travels: February-May 2016"
It does not show up in my
shared with me list
or saved list
or created by me list.
I also cannot see any way to delete it.
Is this a new way for google to make money? Insert unwanted maps into peoples My Places accounts so they will look at them?
  • Sounds like you still have the Google History turned on allowing Google to track every movement you make. I suggest that Google has no business collecting this data and you should immediately turn off this overly intrusive function. You can also delete all the previous info from your phone (but Google still has it).

I see no reference to google history in my account settings. Is there someplace else I should look for these settings? The map I refer too is not for places I have been, somehow it just "appeared" in My Places and now I cannot get rid of it.
  • No worries. If you are allowing Google to collect your location info (the only way they can put together your travels) and you have no problems with this then everything is OK,
  • "My Places" and "My Maps" are the same thing I believe. I use "My Maps" and noticed that if I load someone else's map, then I cannot delete their map from My Maps.

The tabs at the top of their screen show "Not Owned" and the not owned maps show in the ALL tab.
I'm not happy about it. But Google is still developing their map program.
