I mentioned earlier that when the sun lines up with the satellite your watching, it can overpower that signal for several minutes. I'm pretty sure that's what's causing my problem these days. I'll be watching a local station in HD and get a complete signal loss message about the same time every day. If I switch to the same channel in SD I can watch it with no problems other than the volume is a lot lower on the SD channels. What I can't figure out is why I can see the programming just fine if all I do is press the guide button - that open the guide and a preview pane with video and sound. It won't stay like that because it times out, goes back to full screen where I get the complete signal loss message again. After about 1/2 an hour, everything's okay again.
The solar outage phenomenon happens twice a year during the equinoxes, so March and September. It happens around noon time and usually lasts 10-12 minutes. I can last for a week or 2 but will always be a very short period of time.
