Wow, you all have made it easy for me. Thanks for the brilliant ideas. I came up with a way to plumb my staff but I doubt anyone else could benefit from it as mine is mounted to the side of RV.

Yes, the elevation was the more important for me as it is front-heavy and required muscling into position against the weight. Then there was always some sag with which to contend. But as long as I was going to do one, I might as well do both. What I didn't show was I added a ring screw to the bottom of the shaft in case I want to add a weight when there is wind.

Got my new 1000.4 EA unit today and it has the elevation screw adjustment. Now I need to devise an azimuth adjustment although I may not need it. Still waiting on my WA LNB.

Lots of setup and time-savers at TV4RV.com. Many you can DIY. Often easier to buy from him rather than scour the web.

I've never needed to use the azimuth fine tuning cam on my 1000.4 mount. I've always been able to tweak it enough by just bumping it a bit until I find the sweet spot.
