Searching for a Aftermarket Backup Camera

I just bought a new to me 2008 E350 and I want to add an aftermarket backup camera. I took a quick look on Amazon and there are hundreds from $20 to a few hundred. Does anyone here have one they've added that is just amazing? Or have you added on that was terrible?

I'm not sure if I'll need a separate monitor for it or not, as I may be adding a new in dash receiver with video input.

I just finished installing a backup cam in my rig. Bought on Ebay for $88.00, it has a 7" monitor. The camera can be used either wireless or hard-wired. I tried it wireless first, and although it worked fairly well, it was susceptable to outside interference. I finally ran the long video cable to hard wire it, and it works great. Not amazing, but just a good, functional and inexpensive camera.

    I have it's cousin. About $75+ USD.
    Wireless works fine.
It's been installed and working for several weeks.
I'm quite happy with it's performance.
  • We had a rear camera installed last summer on our 05 chev. $850.00 because of a new rear view mirror was needed. This was $$$ but I found out early on cheap cannot be the best so as of 6 months this winter I found it was an awesome item to have for our long truck and backing out of a parking site to be able to back farther and not have to twist my old neck. The view is on the left side of the mirror and is very clear and works great at night. I wish I had bought it years ago.

  • I bought a refurbished wireless Pyle for $40. Looked like video of the first lunar landing, didn't know what the he!! I was looking at. Tossed it out. Don't buy that one.
  • I have used these guys and they were very helpful replacing an old camera with a new one with no re-wiring

I got the current one from

    QMV

I needed to call twice to get a 4-pin to RCA converter plug, but the price was ok for the unit.
