Sirius XM

OK...did a search and found some postings relating o Sirius XM...here's what I want to know...apparently Sirius has an adapter that I could hook into my existing radio and listen to through the Winnie sound system. Does anyone have experience with the effectiveness of this product. Do I pay a separate subscription fee if I want to have a radio that I play when camped? THANKS!!!!
  • There are a couple of ways of doing the XM Sirius hookup since the Stereo in our teardrop did not have an input I bought the cradle and the FM direct which disconnects the "automotive" antenna reducing interference.
    A complete kit, http://www.tss-radio.com/siriusxm-professional-vehicle-install-bundle.html

Depends what device you use to tap into your existing radio, as to if it can be used in a different location. If you have an XM ready radio, you can get a XM receiver to plug in the back of your radio, it has a plug about the size of an aspirin tablet, and just works with a ready radio. If you buy the ones they sell on the shelf at Walmart with a small docking station, you can get a extra docking kit with antenna, and rig it up in another location, and it plugs into radio the has a aux port on it, which is just about any radio in the past 5 years. Now here's how you work the XM folks. You get the shortest subscription at first , maybe 90days. Next you call them 2 days short of expiring(dont go past the date or they bill you hard), and say your calling to cancel, they'll ask why, say too many commercials, or you don't have the money right now. They then connect you to another person that will give you a crazy cheap promotion deal, at least 6months, to a year. Last time I called, I got 1 yr. for $80. I've been paying the game for 3 years now. The reps. even told me to call before the expiration to cancel next time, but don't forget.lol

This works. If you let "the deal" run out, they renew at a much higher rate, which is harder to negotiate down. I just got a year for $86.

  • We have a cradle for both our trailer and truck (also 2 seperate antenna's) so that we can move the receiver back and forth. We utilized the aux-jack in our trailer stereo. We use a cassette type connector for the aux on the truck. We also purchased the Rockbox when purchased our system. It can be used on 110v/12v/or 8 D-cell batteries. And yes you will need a subscription for your receiver. We are able to pickup NFL, MLB, and college football games with ours. We love it for travel and camping and would not travel without it!

My subscription for my Sirius XM radio in my 2010 F150 truck is $24.00 a month. This is for the Family Radio setup and the Travel Link. The YEARLY BILLING is probably the best way to go which I may change to pretty soon...

Get good ole country music anywhere we go (Even in GOBER, TX) and I love the ROAD MAPS with all the business locations identified.

Wouldn't want to leave home without it...

You pay a fee for each device you have.
