Site to check my speed of internet access
Yep, I may not have broad band.
So, I'd like the suggestion of a site where I can go ask what my downloading speed is. I'm 400' from the nearest house and more than a kilometer from a convenience store/sub post office.
I think a Canadian site would be a good idea, but am not sure.
& here's why I'm asking: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/crtc-internet-essential-service-1.3906664
Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission today ruled that broadband Internet service is essential to Canadians and has put up $ and time to make this happen.
Just in case you don't know 75% of our over 36,000,000 (a wee bit more than California) live within 100 miles of the U.S/Canada border. Got that, this ruling likely affects something like 9 million people (of course, it's less than 9 mil. because of places like Fort McMurray located quite a bit more than 100 miles from border.)
& curiosity question please. I'm paying $99.00/mo. for my access. How does that compare?
