Small inverter or 12 volt tv?

Run it off the 2k inverter, or wire up the 300 watter to the batteries instead of using a 12v socket. I'm not sure the TV is going to like the mod sine however.

Why did you buy this TV in the first place? IOW, what would you buy instead of it?

Does this Tv have a power brick? Check its voltage.

Get the small inverter. It may have the hardwire connection included. If not hard wire it.

we power our 32" Sony using a 300W pure sine inverter on an rv 12v plug without problem unless the batteries are below 12.2V. It could be that your modified sine wave inverter is cheaply made and pulls way more load than normal.

get a 12 volt TV.

I got a good deal on it, and I was told that some tvs that say 14 volt will actually run off of 12. Yes, it has a power brick. The power brick is 14 volt.

Apparently he already HAS a 12 V TV but just not the proper 12 V cord to plug into it.

Expending a little extra energy finding the right plug/cord seems to me like a MUCH better solution that the others he is contemplating.

If all else fails, the company that made the TV should have one available.

They say 14 because automotive systems vary from 12.6 up to about 14 volts. That kind of a label is normal.

If you have a brick adapter, then you already HAVE at least one of the proper sized connectors.

It seems to me like you are making this much harder than it needs to be.

Radio Shacks still exist in some markets with stuff like this.
It should be available online from a multitude of places.

I run my TV from the 12v socket with a small plug in invertor. The TV is a Vizio 24" and I also run a 26" outside with another plug in invertor.

Those outlets you should not exceed 8 amps. Thats about 100 watts.

Both these TV's run at 25 watts or less. ( I used a killowatt meter to determine this)

The invertors I use ar stanly 120 watt units with no fan. ( I dont want the noise).

TV's run fine and never an issue.

I also run a third invertor by the couch in the summer to run a 20" box fan. Box fan uses 95 watts on hi. I unually run on low @ 25 watts.

So while boon docking I could be cranking 8-10 amps out the batterys an hour. With my 220 ah batterys ill be at 50% in about 10 hours.

If your current inverter has a plug in type cord, I meant to remove it and wire straight into the receptacle. This would make a tighter more efficient connection then a cigarette lighter plug.

I made up a cord some years ago with a cigar on one end and the small barrel on the other.
Why not do the same?
