Sound but no picture on my DVD player

I have a new 2016 Forest River Micro-Lite and I can't get the DVD player to work right. I put a movie in it and I get the sound of the movie but no picture. I've tried changing different stuff on the TV but still nothing. I was going to take it back to Camping World and let them fix it but I was told they don't know how long it would take and I don't want to let it sit in there for the summer. I told the lady it might be operator error and if someone could give me a quick five minutes it might not be broke. But she said I would have to drop it off. Go figure!
  • Update, sorry it took so to get back, but I took it back in to the shop since it was still under warranty, come to find out they had the cable in the wrong spot, he told me it was just like the one you have at home. They had the cable plugged in the video in instead of the video out. that's all it was geeesh! Thanks to all that responded.
  • My suggestion is to join the Forest River Forum and address your question there. This is a very active forum with a lot of knowledgeable people and it covers all the types of RV's that Forest River manufactures: Class A, Class C, towables, fifth wheels, etc.

I'm sure someone on that forum has experienced the same problem that you have and can give you assistance with it.
  • How is the DVD player connected to the LCD TV?
  • Just went thru that with my DVD player.
    Mine was a bad cable.
  • is there a sound system ?
i suspect the sound is going thru the sound system and will always be on
for the video you need to use the remote and select the video source
the remote might have buttons for TV and HDMI or video
    if so press video
or hdmi until you see the picture
    or press menu
    choose input
    scroll down the input list
    hdmi
    dvd
    sat
    etc..
  • Without knowing the DVD or TV models some obvious things to look for.

Does the TV give a picture on other sources?
Are the correct video cables being used? and are they good? (it would be helpfull to know if you are using video, HDMI, RGB cable)
