Streaming at Stick Home keeps shutting off?

I no longer have an iOS device, but I believe WiFi is turned off by default when the device goes into sleep mode to conserve battery life. This sounds like what is happening as it occurs every 20 minutes? However, this should not happen if connected to a power adapter? I don't believe you can turn sleep mode off from your device.

There apparently is an app, though not available on iTunes, that can keep the WiFi connection alive, but requires you to jailbreak(root) your device. Otherwise, connect the iPod to a power supply.

You may also want to contact the developer of the app and ask if UIRequiresPersistentWiFi is set to True, which is supposed to keep WiFi from turning off if an app requires it to do so? By iOS default, it's set to No.

adhoc mode shouldn't cause an interruption (although most anything is possible) however often times portable devices ARE designed to turn off all unneeded power draws like backlights and wireless radio cards in order to "conserve" battery power as DEFAULT.

"surfing" the net is an "activity" but, streaming is not an activity because you are not ACTIVELY using the portable device (IE screen taps, movements or gestures).

Since it is happening regularly at 20 minutes the power save features may be enabled for the radio card, basically turning the card off until you OK it to start again.

To prove this theory, try every 15 minutes some screen "gesture"to "wake up" the device. If I am correct the streaming will continue past the 20 minute mark. If this works then go find the power settings and make the change to not power down the radio card. Just keep in mind in doing this the card will be active ALL the time and may reduce your battery time per charge.

Honestly however since your are connecting this to a stereo or amplified speakers, perhaps think about buying a purpose made "Internet" radio tuner which is designed for playing streaming radio channels.

Sounds like your WiFi connection is timing out.

You need to check your setting on your Ipod, make sure it is not set to power down the radio card automatically due to no activity (streaming is not considered as "activity" and therefore the Ipod may be turning off the radio card.

Then if you are using your own WiFi access point, router, modem, make sure it is not set to power down these devices or limiting your session time.

Personally I find streaming anything "wirelessly" to be rather annoying at best..

The thing that did not lead me to buffering is that when it does as described, if you select the WiFi option on the screen it immediately starts back up. :h

Are you sure it isn't buffering but then gets confused when it starts to buffer. Sometimes these internet companies advertise much faster service than it really is. My internet service advertised fast service but at times it was slower than dial up. However, they were charging for fast service.
