Due to the Hoppers suitcase like size, I was wondering if it could be mounted on it's side during use? There just is no room in the AV cabinet for it. I would lay it flat and powered down for travel. ...

I don't think 2"x16"x11.5" quite qualifies as "suitcase like", but Bill has it. The Hopper needs to be flat when in operation. The "Dish Anywhere" Sling feature should work on most devices with Internet access, but the appropriate plugins or apps may not be available for all OS's and browsers. Windows RT tablets for instance can not access it. We use it with Windows 8.1 and Linux on our laptops, and via an app on our Android tablets and phones. I don't have any Apple products available to test with.
