TireMinder Booster - connecting to battery

Thinking about purchasing the TireMinder TPMS. Package from Camping World comes with booster. While I have a very short TT, if I do use the booster, is this a direct connect to the battery? Is there any way to connect that will 'shut off' when not in use. I think I've seen mentioned that someone connected into running lights but not sure I want to have lights on all the time.
  • My unit has a rear closet. The light has a manual switch; therefore, power is at the light all the time. Connected mine to the power, and it is on all the time. Haven't had any problem.
  • I got mine wired directly to one of the batteries on my 5th wheel and then used cable ties to attach the unit to the outside of the battery box. The unit draws very little current for the led flashing light.

Are you afraid someone will see you?? I run with lights on all the time.

    Thanks for the useless response!

    Merry Christmas anyway.

It wasn't intended as a useless respond.

I always run with lights on.

You can never be too visible.

    Merry Christmas to you also.
  • I would check for a system that has a AA battery powered transmitter such as Tire Traker or some others. Have you checked the TireMinder website they may offer a AA battery powered transmitter.

I have a 12 cig type outlet at the rear of my Van so I mounted my repeater there and put a 12V plug on it so I simply plug it in when towning (only have the sensors on the TT). As a option where ever you plan to get your power simply use one of the 2 conductor connectors like shown below and available at your local auto parts store and then you can plug it in when you need the repeater.

Note make sure the +12V side to the battery is the female end of the connector.
