Unlimited AT&T/Cricket $60 a month

The company I get my T-Mobile hotspot from now has a unlimited Cricket style hotspot service for $60 a month. Cricket does not allow for a hotspot on their unlimited plan so this is a alternative for those that do need one.

At $60 it is on AT&T's 4G network that supports up to 4 Mbps if the signal supports it. My Freedompop Global is on AT&T 4G and I rarely see over 2 Mbps. Hardly worth $60 a month.

For $5 more and the cost of a LTE modem you can have LTE up to 10 Mbps. Cricket goes up to 8 Mbps which is fast enough for most anything I do.

Now here is what would keep me from switching. For another $5 a month you can have unlimited calling but you need a modem with a phone jack. I need a cell phone, not a land line. Otherwise I would do it in a heartbeat.
  • One thing I have noticed about this plan is the only modem that has a phone jack is a 4G only modem, no LTE service option.
  • I use Straight Talk (verizon) for my phone and also a hotspot. Not a single problem ever.
  • IMHO still think straight talk is the way to go. Unlimited talk text data for $45 bucks.

Been using it now for 2 years and have no problems with it. Especially the NO contract part of it.
  • I have the ZTE Z915 and it picks up bands from everything. Band 12 on T-Mobile is big in a handful of states including Colorado and my home of Michigan. It does well with my refurbished Wilson Sleek but I didn't need it back home. I was pulling 15 Mbps sitting on the back porch.

My Problem is I only have VERZION COVERAGE here where I live...

All of the others carriers are like GREEN ACRES - You have to climb a tree or telephone pole to get out haha...

I can spend a few dollars and set up a repeater/relay or just stay with the one carrier that works somewhat it seems haha...

Much of T-Mobile's recent major build-out has been on Band 12, and the current T-Mobile hotspot offerings don't cover it. The 915's that he now has on hand and will soon list do cover it. Where I am right now, the current Samsung V100T and ZTE MF96 don't work at all, but the 915 is working quite well.
