On my '03 Dutch Star, I have a D12-100 receiver with a TracStar SV360 in-motion roof antenna. I also carry a small simple DirecTV portable ground antenna with lots of cable that I can readily set up whenever I'm parked under trees.A couple of weeks ago I started checking the whole system, prior to going a long trip. And, I discovered a TV-systems problem.It's a long story, after a series of calls to DirecTV AND TracStar technicians, and I have learned a few things,....BUT not enough.For now, I have a couple of simple questions, the first one is:How and where (in San Antonio now) can I quickly find/buy a replacement LNB for my simple DirecTV ground antenna?I know I can order one online, but I'd like to know what kind of local source there might be,.....what kind of store, etc?Thanks

Lots of online stores. Most will offer next,second or even three day shipping.

Online or ask a tech when you see a service truck. Most will sell off the truck.

Radio shack if they are still in business today ( they are near bankruptcy) and even target had one a few years ago. Try Best Buy also. Sadly I buy that stuff all online ( Amazon or eBay) now just too easy and normally cheaper I quess.

I also remember Radio Shack carrying the single and dual LNB's. Worth a try anyways.

Thanks everyone, for all the offers and suggestions. So far, I've talked to about 6 different DirecTV support technicians, and I could NOT get any of them to set up a rendezvou with a DirecTV repairman so I could get a LNB from them. AND, the earliest service call appointment that they could give me was in 10 days.
But, I did find The Satellite Shop in California. They have exactly the LNB I need, for $25. I'll order one first thing Monday(tomorrow).

No, you can not call and set up an appt with a truck. You need to see one parked somewhere and talk to the tech. In person with a $20.
Or online off EBay like I said.

I didn't have enough time, nor patience, to run around looking for a Direct TV van. So, I ordered it from Joe at The Satellite Shop in California. The tracking feature shows my LNB started out in Warrendale PA, and went to Akron OH. I figure it should be here Wednesday or Thursday.

I did some more learning on this satellite antenna business. I hate to showcase my previous ignorance, but one thing I learned is that a simple Directv receiver feeds 12vdc to the antenna LNB, whereas the TracStar in-motion dome antenna is fed 24vdc. After scratching my head, I kinda figure that I probably, at some point in my amateur diagnostics, might've momentarily connected the Directv LNB to the TracStar black box. We'll find out if I made a $32 blunder. What do you think, did I fry my LNB?
