usb alarm sensor?
I have a alarm at my gate that sends 12 volts DC to the house when a car passes the sensor. Sounds a buzzer. I'd like to also get an Email. Is there a USB device and software that can send an Email when a relays contacts close?

- Looks like this thing can do it- https://www.controlanything.com/Relay/Device/MIRCC2_WiFi, but a Raspberry Pi can do it with a bit of programming a whole lot cheaper.
- Raspberry can do it but expensive? Esp8266 from Amazon, around five bucks. Connected to WiFi you can have it send you email, text message, etc.
- UPDATE: I found a solution. Kind of fooling my DVR system. I have a DVR camera system that can send e mails. What I didn't want was an email every time a deer or turkey walked in front of the camera. What I did was wire up one of the cameras so that it only got it's power when the alarm went off. Then I had that camera send a email when it senses motion. It only has power when the alarm goes off so 99.999 percent of the time the DVR sees a black screen but as soon as the camera comes on the motion causes an e mail to be sent.
