I don't know about those 10 things.. I'm not that big a fan of Mickey Soft, I mean I know where he got his original operating systems and he should have been jailed for theft but.. That said.

Some of what is in those posts is questionable.. Some is more or less accurate. But not all of that is Microsoft's fault.

For example: I recently contacted the help desk on a web page I frequent that stopped working.. now when I have problems MSIE is the "Most supported" browser but their recommendation was to try the Fox, or Chrome.

Well, to access that family of pages I now have to use all 3.

IS this Micrsoft's fault? (Or Google, or Mozilla Foundations?) NO, IT IS THE WEB PAGE PROGRAMMER's. And since I'm talking bad about him I will not mention the URL.

Oh, I will mention one URL, the one in your Address bar.. That's not the one I'm talking about in the prior paragraph. Far as I know these pages work on all 3 of the named browsers in this post.
  • I'm not a MS fanboy, but the OP linked article did tell me a lot about the company, and it reinforced my sense that they work hard in software products that are powerful and stand up over time.

But how are they gonna spin their continuing support for XP in China (where most MS software is bootlegged) while using apocalyptic scare tactics on the rest of the world who will see an end to MS support w/r security patches on XP code?

I can accept it if MS and US political powers arranged a swap deal - computer security for wiping away a trillion or so of our China IOU. China will never be seeing that money anyway.

I know most folk here are already using newer MS OSs, but you gotta admit, this move has very bad PR juju. Then again, PR is perennially one of MS's weak spots. Why?
