VOIP in Canada

I would truly appreciate hearing the experiences of folks using VOIP in Canada.
Thanks:
Vic
  • There are quite a few to choose from. We use Magic Jack, along with the Iphone/Android Apps so we can leave the Jack at home and use the Apps on the road anywhere with good wi-fi. Kinda nice when you can answer your home phone in Arizona or Florida as if you were still there. Also it's not long distance for family to call if they live in your same home area code. Just a side note, all Rogers Home phone customers are actually on VOIP. There charging the same as a regular home phone and laughing all the way to the bank. If curious you can look up magicjack.com sold both in Canada and US available at Walmart, Radio Shack etc...
  • We've been using Vonage for over 10yrs. fewer problems than the traditional wired phone. Lots of advantages, including forwarding to cell phone or any other phone, no long distance charges. We have also taken the 'box' to Florida and used it there (had a good internet connection) same as here in ON, less important now as they have an app for the cell phone and can make voip calls using only cell data or wifi connections. No long distance, roaming, or air time charges, especially important with Canadian cell carriers in the US.

  • I have been using Ooma for about 2 years. Very happy with it...saved myself a lot of money. Got it at Costco.
