What does tis switch do on multiple AC socket strip?

I've been using this multiple socket strip (5 sockets) with built in surge suppression for some years and never figured out what is the purpose of a switch found on the side of strip. It's a slide switch labeled In-Out. It's been in the OUT position since I've owned it, and I have no clue what it does. Keep in mind this device is also a surge suppressor. Any ideas what it's for and which is the correct position of the switch? Thanks.

    Are you sure that the In/Out labels apply to the switch and not to TV cable or network input/output jacks? Could that switch just be a breaker reset or regular power switch?

    It's definitely IN-OUT.It's not a breaker, but definitely only a slide switch.There is also an ON-OFF rocker switch on the device besides the slide switch.

    No, my device is nothing like that. There is no provision for network connections. It only supplies power to standard 120 VAC 3-prong plugs.

    No. Otherwise it would say "Reset". Besides, I've never seen a reset button as a slide switch. Thanks anyway.

    Good question. Markings have pretty much worn away, but it appears to be "CyberPOWER". Perhaps I'll do what I should have done in the 1st place, Google it. I'll report if I find anything.
