What his this wire for?

While I was tracing my satellite wires into the bedroom, I found this wire in the cabinet next to the cable /sat junction box... anyone know what it may be for? Look familiar ?

  • Guessing...not the model you bought but the next "up level?"
  • May be the power cable for the tv switchbox. I'll have to take another look at mine to know for sure.
  • Got it... it is the control wire to turn off and on a winegard traveler dish once it is mounted on the roof.
  • That is a control cable for a Winegard Trav'ler satellite TV antenna. Sounds like the coach is pre-wired for the roof mounted Trav'ler which is a very good thing! There should also be 1 or 2 coax cables nearby.

Thanks Bill... There is a plate with 2 connections directly next to that.. The one is sat wire from the convenience center, the other is sat wire from the roof. I knew the coach was pre wired, just never had sat before, and was not sure what everything was...

  • Now you just need some cash to pony up for a Trav'ler! It's pricey but it's completely awesome!

Yea, about that.... my Pathway X2 should be here tomorrow, along with the 2 Wally's and tripod. .
  • Well, at least you will have everything in place should you choose to do the upgrade.
Be aware that the Pathway and 2 Wally's can still be an issue. If you select the 2 receiver mode you will not be able to receive ANY Network TV programming and you must be able to "see" the Dish satellite located at 72 degrees, so the farther East you are the better chance you have.
If you choose the EA or WA option then the 2nd receiver will be a slave and will only be able to watch channels coming from the same satellite that was selected by the main receiver.
