Yes, there should be a built in battery charger. It's actually a "Converter", it converts 110v into 12V, and when you are plugged in, it runs your 12v appliances and charges the battery. To test whether it's working, you need to find it and check the input voltage and output voltage directly at its' terminals. It's probably located behind the electrical panel that has your 12V fuses in it.
