2 tow or not 2 tow

Not knowing the size of your family, and if there's only the two of you, or even with two small children, I'd suggest a Sportsmobile as we have. Or most any B could do. One like ours can be parked in your driveway, so the Home Owners Assn. doesn't get their panty hose in a bunch about large RV's in the driveway, or a Sportsmobile can even be garage-able. Set-up is fast and depending on what extras you choose, you can be virtually self contained. And as in our case it is the second vehicle, and when on a trip can be taken into cities for touring and parked on city streets without a hassle.
Or even stuffed full of luggage when staying at a RV cabin.

What would you be towing with?

I hired a tow company to move my large tt. Plenty of them around at short notice

You definitely should maintain insurance on the trailer. However, while being towed it may be covered by the tow vehicle insurance... depends on the company, I think.

Do you belong to a church or to any clubs? If you do, you could meet some people and become friends, and one of them might have a good pickup.

How far away from home would you want your trailer to be? Do you have a specific location in mind already?

A hot shot is a self employed driver who can do jobs for anybody, as opposed to an employee of a trucking company who only drives for that company.

Thanks for the suggestions. We thought about hiring a driver, but don't know how plentiful they might be. Someone suggested a "hot shot" driver. What exactly is that? Also, would their vehicle insurance have to include tt or would any accident while towed be covered by the insurance we would have on the tt? Just an fyi, another reason we are hesitate to tow it ourselves is because my husband has poor vision and can not drive. I would be doing the driving and I'm not too sure how comfortable (or competent) I would be towing a tt.

Lots of CGs have cabins. You get the CG experience without towing anything.

If you have stayed at one location for a full season, you will have met neighbors who have trucks that could move your trailer.

If you are only moving a reasonable distance (NOT Virginia to Utah)somebody will help you out for the cost of fuel and a couple of cases of beer.

Oh - this is easy. Rent a Uhaul with a hitch.

Bribe a buddy with a big pickup truck with some good beer.

I also question why one would want to have a TT if they are not going to travel with it. If your desire is to be in a RV park then I would buy a park model and have it set up permanently. That way you will not be paying for wheels etc and you can get one with a nice layout that looks good.
