Thanks For the great advice. It's really cleared a lot of things up for me as regards trailer purchase. I know exactly how to approach any negotiations now.
As far as the advice to run screaming from the dealer goes, it may be the most sensible reaction but the best I can hope to manage is to hobble away grumbling if the worst comes to the worst.
As for proving to the dealer that I'm not a dummy, that's quite a tall order, I'll probably need to settle for dummy with a well informed attitude after reading all these posts.
As for the other detailed advice contained in this thread, it's spot on and most helpful. Thanks again for the input.
