- Jayco-noslideExplorerWe found ours on something like RVT.com.
- RedskyExplorerBased on the nearly complete lack of consumer protection law in New Jersey I would be looking for something out of state to buy. First decide on the models and range of years that will work for you and then you can look for those specifically with craigslist and searchtempest and even doing Google searches.
A great many RV companies went out of business in 2007-2008 with the US bankster crashing of the economy. Great deals on RV's where the manufacturer is no longer in business. Friends lost about a third of the value of their motorhome when the company that manufactured theirs went out of business and they lost many tens of thousands as a result.
RV's in remote areas will require a greater investment to check out but they are going to be priced for a lot less than those in major market areas where there are lots of potential buyers.
I have come across some great deals in Florida where a spouse becomes to ill to continue traveling or dies or where someone moves into an area that does not allow RV's on the property. I would not hesitate to fly to Florida to save $15K or more on an RV. - IAMICHABODExplorer IIAlong with the other suggestions there is another option to get more for your money.
After a long and frustrating search for something in my price range I opted to go with the Ex Rental, I found that going this way you get a well maintained RV at a decent price. There are a lot of people that have done that and have been happy with their choice
You can read about them in this thread Click Here - v7ExplorerThanks,
looks like it is sponsored by Scott motor coach RV center. (was there two days ago, most used C classes were 40+) - EyegorExplorerThere is the Central NJ RV show this weekend. Looks like it is Exit 116 off the GSP. Looking at the website I think it is going to be at most only a couple dealers, but should have a good selection. Most will be new, but the sales folks will also know what is sitting on the lot back home too. And you can't beat the admission price.

P.S. I don't have any connection to this event. I was thinking of attending myself. - rbtgloveExplorerThe IRV2 has classified for Class Cs. Our first RV was a ten year old 1976 class 24' C, 20K miles and paid $3500. Guess prices have gone up some.
- v7ExplorerThanks !
Jayco - did you find it on ebay? CL ? - Larry_SandersExplorerTry rvonline.com, they have a couple of units in your price range.
You will probably have to travel out of state, but that's half the fun.
I did sell a motor home on this site a few years ago.
Good luck. - Jayco-noslideExplorerWe paid $23,000 for a 2003 Itasca Spirit, 30 footer. We looked a long time and had trouble finding: good condition, well cared for, 30 ft or less, full, permanent bed, couch ,dinette for that price range. We're pretty satisfied and think we got a good buy, yet there are some wrinkles in the outer layer (delamination?) that I can't believe we didn't even see before we bought. It was from a private party. Only advice is to keep looking and look 2 or 3 times before you buy. Don't get caught up in the excitement of finding one and overlook flaws.
