camp host
so I have been reading reviews on the various campgrounds mentions throughout the forum. Camp hosts are usually mentioned. Are camp hosts the owners of the campground?

Usually not. They are often work campers (who are paid to stay) or volunteers or barter their site fees for some work.- no
