Christening rv toilet

liquid water softener and laundry detergent worked most outstanding. BW tank was squeak clean after just a plain ole dump, no rinsing. I don't know if the sensors will start working until the next time we use it, but dang it looks clean. Only drove about a mile to the dump station, and that was at campground speed.

Above all, make sure she's the last one to use it... then give her comet and make her scrub it out!

Wow, always an interesting topic that gives me a few chuckles. I do find it absolutely disgusting that some same their used TP, used TP has to smell and is so unsanitary. Also, 15 years ago when we bought our first TT and had a bathroom was the last time I had to go into a campground bathroom, it was the main reason to upgrade to a trailer with a bathroom, got to have your own thrown. As for water, never add 5 gallons just a couple and yes I use liquid aqua chemo because I like to, cost about $12-18 a year.

Anyway, enjoyed the thread, have not had issue with the tank or dumping and the smells are no different than at home so unless you run out to McDonalds to use their bathroom then all should be fine.

The best part about having your RV, is that you've got a bathroom at your convenience even en route. We pull over to use it even for short 3 hour trips.

x2. There really is no need for all the drama some go thru with their toilets. I never put water in mine except during the flush cycle. I never use ice and I never use chemicals (although I tend to reserve no. 2 for the CG toilets) I let it get full or near full before I dump it ensuring a complet wash out.

My toilet doesnt smell, I dont have a poo pile (which I am convinced comes from leaving the valve open at camps/parks and letting the liquid out) And (GASP!) wait for it....Sacrilege of all sacrilege...I use regular toilet paper not the overly expensive kind one is told you MUST use. (you mustn't).

So dont worry. And if you were smart and put a little dish of Potpurri in the bathroom she is going to think you are a very sensitive and thoughtful guy...or Gay. :)

100% agree, do the same here no issues.

X3, with a little bit of common sense and proper maintenance, the toilet is a non-issue. We never think of ours until we use it!

These are the rules in my RV and it is not difficult to explain the house rules to guests. I have been married 41 years and we have owned many rv's. Keep momma happy. We started our journey on our honeymoon in a tent. Porta Potties really require the sit down method.

There was a movie with Jack Nicholson where his wife forced him to sit down on the toilet to pee. After she dies, he takes a liberating (standing) leak and sprays the entire bathroom down.

IMO chemicals are just deodorizers and don't "break up" anything, though many claim to do so. So yes, we use a "deodorizer" in our black tank per the wife's wishes.

After watching "the fit RV" holding tank video's, Im wondering which chemical breaks up solids best since all the rinsing gadgets he tested left them behind.

Also, which wand rinser cleans the tank the best. The camco Swivel Stik looks like a joke.

I need a wand with a 90 degree elbow /nozzle I can aim.

After dumping I add 2-3 gallons of water to the tank. I don't add extra water to the tank after using. I did install a Tornado tank rinser several years ago and use it every few weeks, don't know if it helps or not. I dump when it is over 2/3 full. If it is not at least 2/3 full when I want to dump, I add water. After dumping I start the procedure again. I have always used the same TP that we use in the house, nothing special.
