When I turn on the dometic heater on my rv, the aircondition would also turn on.

Anyone experienced this?

Are you sure it's not a heat pump?

As mentioned, fan's set to low or high. This question is frequently asked and I have an article about it:

just went through the same issue with my brother on his trailer with the dometic thermstat and AC. yup, set it to auto made it work like one would expect.

oh, and if for some reason the display changes to degrees C instead of Degrees F, (or vice versa) push the up and down together and hold and it will switch.

YEP^^^

Fan control on thermostat is for the A/C Unit Fan.
In Auto the Fan runs when A/C runs
In Manual (high or low) fan runs when A/C runs BUT will also run when furnace runs.

Idea is A/C Fan 'helps' circulate the warm air from furnace (heat rises)

But in reality it just cools the wram air and provides no benefit plus it's noisey.
thanks

Is the "Dometic heater" perchance a heat strip on the air conditioner? If it is, the fan needs to run for the heat to work.
