I don't know if you will have hookups or not, but we found that having a fan with us is good. There are many times it is not really hot enough to turn the air on, but a breeze would make you more comfortable. Also nice at night sometimes.

Also, something to put dirty laundry in.

A fan out side will keep the skeeters away, they are weak flyers.
  • Add to the above: If you have the room, a folding chair / patio chair of some sort for everyone. Sitting outside on a campground picnic table gets old fast. And why be in the great outdoors only to sit inside your camper? Something for sitting around the campfire, reading, enjoying the outdoors, etc.

Pencil and paper to make a list of things you forgot.
  • I'm with you! We bought a Class B last week and this weekend is our first excursion. We are completely new to RV-ing. This is going to be awesome, or a disaster. I'm shooting for awesome.

Wishing you lots of fun on your first trip!
  • See if this helps:
    First Trip Essentials

I tried to take as little as absolutely possible the first few trips to shake out what we really needed/wanted. Of course, we still have bunches that don't get used ever or often. It happens.
  • Water pressure regulator? Have a good flash light, an rain gear hoping not needed lol fan is a good idea, of course adult beverages lol an kid beverages be his firs time camping an fiance first Time camping ever we're going just for a few days kind of a shake down trip see how things go don't thank there one peace I haven't had to work on on the coach to get it back working fully
  • I would make sure I had:

    1. A really good flashlight.

    2. Rain gear (No matter what HE says on TV!)

    3. A credit card.

The rest will sort itself out after a couple of trips.

  • Kansas, you list is pretty accurate, but the order is reversed: Adult beverages, and/or coffee, water, food…..
  • One thing that's easy to overlook is Tupperware or Rubbermaid containers to keep your leftovers in. On my first outing I had to throw out perfectly good food because I didn't have a way to store it. :(

When you say "the obvious" I believe you mean things such as wheel chocks, drinking water hose, water pressure regulator, dishes, personal items, food and water. Plus coffee and/or adult beverage!

Maybe can opener and corkscrew can be included?
