I'm old school. I put one foot in front of the other. When the day comes that I can't do that, I will more than likely give up camping for good.

Some campgrouns only allow electric, something to keep in mind. Our favorite place, Ocean Lakes is one of them, so we traded gas for 48v.

All Electric cars, golf cards and scooters, and especially Prius hybrids should be equipped with bells like bicycles so people will know they are moving, and beepers if in reverse. Nothing like being run over by a silent vehicle sneaking up behind you, with a blind, or drunk, or just generally inattentive idiot driving. Prius and other electric cars especially need a bell.

I'll be honest, I don't like them in the campground. We're at Pirateland in Myrtle Beach right now, and I'm amazed at how walkable this place is, but there's hundreds of golf carts running everywhere. Sure they look neat sometimes, but it's irritating to be out walking and constantly buzzed by the things flying by.

I agree...golf carts belong on a golf course..not zooming around in a campground.

I just saw a "cricket" mini golf cart this week. Neat little cart and it'll fold up and fit in an SUV. The guy had a carrier for it on the back of a fifth wheel.

Check out the parks you plan to use it. Many RV parks don't allow them and public parks sometimes only allow them to exit and re-enter the park.

Your dogs would probably enjoy walking. It would be good for everyone.

We had a Club Car golf car. Was not street legal and we didn'the know enough to get one with lights on it .... oh well, for in the park it was great. Dogs could be on back when seat laid down and fur kids secured.

I intend to use a Kawasaki Eliminator 125. A little cruiser. Only 125 CC so not highway legal, but it can get up to 50-55mph so it can keep up with traffic off-highway with no problem.

Have hitch receive and ramp/carrier all set to go.
