Interior door latch sticks out to far / what's the fix?

The earth is not going to come to an end over this problem but I hope somebody has had the same problem and might now what to do about it. My (lack of better word) door latch striker sticks out to ...

OP here...

Thanks for all the replies. All good ideas. Thank you.

Catching clothes, long sleeve seem to find the lip.

Being they are only couple bucks each, going to take off and

1. Bend by something while in a vice, so only lip bends over. OR
2. Grind off lip OR
3. Find the RV model that's smaller.
