To me the answer would be obvious - stabilizers are intended to stabilize the trailer so when you're walking around inside it's not constantly rockin' 'n rollin'. :W Therefore, if you use your rig when it's parked at home on your driveway it only makes sense to level the trailer front to back / side to side and drop the stabilizers just as you would when camping. If OTOH your rig is simply stored on your driveway until it's next camping trip and there's no one in it there's no reason to drop the stabs. Obvious, no? :h
  • Our motorhome doesn't know the difference between parking on a campsite or parking at our cottage, so the jacks are always down. But then we're almost always living in it too...
  • My jacks are up. They are only there for stabilizing the trailer when people are moving around in it. Since I'm not hanging out in there when in storage there's no reason to lower them.
  • When not using our trailer we put the jacks down on blocks and tires are on wood 2x8's sit it up and plugged in
  • mine is parked in the back yard grass... so blocks under all 5 jacks. and trailer is parked on 2x12 by 8 foot long.

so not to sink. :) if it ever rains here.

see in the little town I live in.. NO parking trailers on the driveway. but back yard is OK.

my trailer is plugged in to 30 amp service at home.
  • I leave mine up, makes for a faster get-away......:W

If we were in it every day and walking around I might put them down, but otherwise I leave them up.
