Looking into class A purchase

I am thinking about getting a class A diesel motorhome in the spring. I want to do plenty of research on my purchase. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to start looking for information on good models to consider. Like I said I am in no hurry and want to make a good informed decision. Thanks.
  • We would also recommend you look at the online site for PPL Consignments. It's a good way to get a feel for the various manufacturers, floor plans and prices available.
  • We are planning on full time. We have both been retired for a while and now have a place with 5 acres and lots of up keep. We talked about traveling more but the plce ties us down a lot. Looking to sell get rid of a lot of our "stuff" and hit the road. When we get tired of it a few years down the road find a place to rent where ever we want. Since it will be full time I am really looking at new. Just wondering what brand of new ones are good. Anyone purchased new? Would love to know if you are satisfied.

Thanks I'd start looking at Diesel pusher for sale at PPL motors and DeMartinis RV web site. This will give you an idea and serve as a good reference point for real world sales, most of the prices aren't firm either. I'd only buy from a dealer too, that's just me.
  • We are also in the market, not for an A but for another RV. Just like cars, RV come in $$, $$$ and $$$$$$$$$, and so first you need to decide how much you are interested in spending. A friend of mine purchased a $$ and while it might be a fluke, she has been disappointed as a lot of the issues they are finding are mostly just slopping workmanship. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who bought a luxury rig, but Ill bet they didn't have warrantee issues. LOL
Also, what do you plan to do with it, full time? Spend nights at Resort RV Parks, National/State Parks? Boondock? Do you plan on winter camping in the snow or desert in the heat, or a little of both. How many do you want to sleep. Do you need a King size bed or will a queen do. Bunks?
Have you a novice at RVing, an old hand, or just upgrading.

  • Send me a PM with your direct email address and I'll send a comprehensive checklist to you - it is too large for an RV.net message!!

I bought a slide in camper from these guys years ago and had a great experience.

They have awesome pictures on their website also.
