Mold and mildew

Moved here, SW FL. in 1986 with 20' C having 2 roof vents left open 24/7 and never Mold or Mildew. After every use a quick clean of fridge, let dry out for 2 days, shut doors and never an issue.

1992 upped to 30' A with 3 vents open 24/7 no issues including fridge.

2010 upped to 36' A with 3 vents opened 24/7 still no issues including fridge.

With our small 21' TT, I use DampRid... but, I found that the hanging bag seems to work much better than the bucket. Nothing scientific, just seems that the bag fills with water much quicker than the bucket. I go through about 2 bags a winter depending on weather, and 1 or 2 during the summer during extended periods of not being used.

This is up in New England, so I have no idea if this will help you down in Florida.

You can expect lots of condensation as temps warm back up in the spring. I always had condensation in the spring on my motorcycle stored in a garage during Michigan winters.

Ours is parked under a roof, so we leave the roof vents open about an inch. We also use the Damp Rid product, and due to the TT being parked on our property, it is an easy check and change when needed.

Another reco for the humidifier. IMO it's easier to service the humidifier than the ac. Drain it in the shower or sink. Save the ac for use when the RV is occupied.

I leave my A/C on all time. BUT a dehumidifier with a drain tube set in the shower with the shower door left open and the gray drain open will do the job also. Either can be run off a 15/20 Amp circuit.

Yep-small dehumidifier. Products like Damp Rid work for a short time until they are saturated and do not remove moisture from the inside unless removed once they become saturated. Although they add heat to the inside-a good thing in the winter-I am not concerned in the summer.

We have 30amp hookup beside the house. We run the AC. It is set at 90. That way we can use the RV as a extra room or retreat or guest house. The cost to run either dehumidifier or AC seems to be close. No real advantage to putting up with the heat and draining.

I was considering a dehumidifier, but I do the same thing - have a 30 amp plub and keep the AC at 90. Works great.
