Newbie refrigerator question.

My camper has the typical small fridge/freezer with the thermostat that slides along the fin in the fridge to adjust. I have it on the lowest setting and it is still freezing in the fridge. Any suggestions?

Dometic non-adjustable temp settings (AUTO Temp Control) moving thermistor can affect fridge temps but only minor (6*F-8*F) overall.

Moving it UP =====COOLER Temps
Moving it DOWN ===LESS Cooler Temps

IF you can change the temp settings ...adjustable temp control---then thermistor S/B attached to far right fin mid-position.
Moving it up/down would have little affect due to adjustable temp settings

Items freezing in food compartment ======thermistor hanging down (not attached to fin) OR bad thermistor
Thermistor senses FIN temp.........if not attached to fin fridge cools continuously causing freezing (same effect bad thermistor has)

Your thermistor is bad.

Sam,

Get the information off the ID plate and go to Dometic Support. Fill in all the squares and boxes and I bet you get an answer.

It does sound like the thermister is bad, but I have not had an absorption reefer in a long time.

I can never remember is up is warmer or colder. Since you moved all the way down, try moving it up.

Mbopp, itโ€™s a dometic fridge. Lvylog, I tried that and thought that might be the case. Thanks for your answer.

Take the thermistor off the fins and see if that warms it up. If it does not then you need a new thermistor.
