Who uses them and how do you clean them - how often? I bought an 8x20 to go under the awning. A friend had one and i liked it but now husband not so much. He is concerned how to store and clean.

I bought my share of RV mats. Don't use them anymore. They are fine if you are going camping for just the weekend.
I full time and I quickly found out that if it rains and the site you are on gets muddy etc. you now have to put that heavy nasty stinky wet mat into your storage bays.
Being on the road it never dries out and stinks up your storage bay and takes up all the room in your storage bay! If you week end camp you bring it home in 2 days. Albeit you still have to put that nasty mat some where in your RV when you leave.
I finally bought shade cloth from one of the box stores. I had one cut the full length of the MH. Light weight, water goes right thru it, you don't slip on it when it gets wet like the RV mats, and if it does get wet hanging it in the sun for 5 minutes completely dries it.
Best part? It folds up into a 12 inch square 2 inches thick for easy storage.
I bought a second one to hang from my awning if parked in the sun. Airs still comes thru but blocks the heat.
Comes in different colors to match your RV! :W
