- Lexicon7ExplorerHey thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. Not sure what you mean by "buy and hold" but if it is what I think it is, I have always thought that full timers would be a secure sale for RV dealers because where will they live if they loose their "home is where you park it?!" I guess the problem is that it may be difficult to show proof that you are full time. I've been full time before but for only a very short time and I really want to go back to it.. I am in Bend OR and there are tons of RV dealerships here... I need to be ready for the winter season at Quartzsite so have plenty of time so will keep you updated... Morgan

- eichacsjExplorerLexicon7, Have you thought of new? If you are a buy and hold that may be best, here's why I think that. We tried to buy a used TT and did not qualify. We went new and got a 2014 Arctic Fox 30U in the single digit interest rate with no down, traded a old used TT to cover the down. I have noticed this with vehicles and RV's. Used - big interest rates large downs, new - very small interest rates low downs (if you want to).
Remember they are a house write off on taxes, so what interest you pay is a write-off. - Lexicon7ExplorerOK Good Samual RV Club Member, well that's a great piece of news. As one post mentioned, since I am debt free and like full timing, it would be good to finance as little as possible so this looks like a plan for me. I'll be aiming to be all put back together here with the great health care services I'm getting from the Bend doctors by the end of summer and do have a bit of cash stashed away now.. I should be able to put together a couple of grand or so and while that's not much, this seems to be an RV central of sorts. I am told they build them here and as a ski town, there certainly are RV sales lots everywhere around here. I can accept starting over at the botton and picking up anything that doesn't leak and rolls straight down the road I can live in. I've already seen such units but had not yet made that "mental" adjustment. So with the help of you guys then this is developing into an interesting "human interest" story. I'll be updating as things develop and will begin posting regularly in another area of the site. Wish me luck! Can not wait for the feeling of that warm desert air on my skin and to lay on the roof at night staring out into space with no city "light pollution," that is a spactacular site for anyone who loves astronomy and the study of "what the hell is out there?" I love it!

Anyone know if it is possible to finance a used RV with less than good credit and if so which sites?
If you can put 50% down almost anyplace will finance you. - Lexicon7ExplorerForgot to mention I also do music so may be able to pick up some work as a bass player or drummer ::: http://www.12GaugeMusic.com Also on SoundCloud under Morgan Chambers!
- Lexicon7ExplorerHey Dog, thanks for the response.. I have been a land surveyor for most of my life and with that a contractor in the socal swimming pool business. My health issues have now compounded as just before Christmas I slipped on hidden ice and now need rotator cuff surgery on top of sleep apnea and the rest of it.. so will be in the Bend area for the summer which is fine because I want to head out to the southwest desert for the 2015 winter season.. always wanted to check out the big Quartzsite rv show..
I think what just may work for me is pick up anything I can tow behind and live in while not paying rent and would then have about a grand a month which would not take so long to stepping stone up to something nicer bit by bit...
PS... the health care in Bend is awesome... ! - Grit_dogNavigatorLex well I understand your situation better now and first wish you the best of luck with your health.
As stated above, even if you can get a loan, the interest rate will suck given your credit, employment and income situation.
While it's easy to say go make some $, you are aware that age and health aren't on your side and that is difficult.
What is/ was your career?
Any way to work for yourself in the same field or another you have skills in?
Personally don't see another way to get what you want and stay debt free.
Sounds like physical work is out of the question. What about something part time, clerical, consulting? What about driving for a living, deliveries, parts runner?
Without a house per se, it's tough for any home based business.
Not sure any bank would loan without a permanent residence on bad credit and low income.
I've always made extra cash buying, fixing and selling stuff, mainly vehicles and other things with engines. Of course I've always had a home base, shop, tools, etc even as a kid living with my parents. Maybe you could swing that with RVs and live in them if you're handy, but not sure how you could do that without having one to live in and one for sale.
Good luck man! - AuntSweetieExplorerWe actually just asked people selling if they would let us pay off. We made huge payments though. And they needed out (not sure why) and we had ties to community. The RV was at a campground and not to be moved....
- 5MainecampersExplorerThe banks will first look at reastablished credit you have established since. Second they will look at employment/ income--- the fixed income might be a problem- thirdly they look at current residence- less than 2 years at same address increases risk- transient is extremely high risk but can overcome if you have excellent credit and down payment. Average credit risk typically requires 20% down. Best if luck
