Well I've been bitten by the RV bug.more like mauled viscously by the RV beast.I spent the better part of two years looking for an RV for my family and I. I finally bought a fixer in October and have spent almost every free minute I have working on it to better suit my needs.my wife is getting a tad concerned lately. I have subscribed to multiple magazines and catalog mailing lists. I read almost every new post on multiple RV forums even though most do not pertain to my specific RV (class A) . I have had hobbies and interests before, but this new found obsession with the RV industry takes the cake. I've even discussed a career change to anything RV related. I've got this GI bill good towards a 4 year degree and if there was a major in recreational vehicles I'd be on it like white on rice.any of you folks out there bitten by this bug? if I had an unlimited budget, I'd have an RV collection that would put Jay Lennos classic cars to shame. Even my son points out every motor home we see while driving, asking to "go play on the bus"Figured I'd share my enthusiasm, sorry moderators if this is the wrong place to post.

I do agree with the others in that if you want to stop camping, make it your job. I use to fly RC airplanes until I started teaching it. I love photography but wont shoot for a month after I do a wedding or a portrait session. In both cases it just sucks the fun out of it.

This is the reason I haven't been to culinary school, love cooking entirely too much to be forced to do it.
I was thinking more along the lines of sales, most people in the market for a new or used RV have questions, and I would love to get paid to chat it up all day long about RV questions and concerns, guiding folks in the right direction and figuring out what exactly the need and don't need.
there is a small dealership a few minutes away from me that has salesmen not working on commission. Seems like a perfect venue to help people and keep my conscience clear by not trying to force a sale someone really doesn't want or need,
now if only they were hiring....

X3. I did this with car racing. Everyone told me how lucky I was. But this falls in the category of "Be careful what you wish for."

When you find yourself checking websites like this first thing in the morning & last thing at night with a few visits during the day, ya, you have the disease.

Not much can be done about it short of getting out somewhere in your unit that does not have internet service.

USMCsousa, I totally feel your pain. For close to 5 years, I was interested. The last 2 I was obsessed. I had the NADA guide memorized for every type of RV. That's how I knew what a good deal I was getting when I finally stumbled up on the Class C that I currently have parked next to my office. I too read every RV publication and forum that I could find. And, like you, I have thought about how I could get into an RV related field of work. The good news is that it does get a little better after you make that purchase, but not a lot. Now I spend most of my time looking at places to go, looking at mods that I can do, or products that will protect, preserve, or enhance my RV experience. However, I still find myself looking at the RV's for sale on Craigslist and PPL fairly regularly. There's just not enough good RV info out there for those who have truly been attacked by that RV beast. Good luck to you, but I hope you keep that bug, and I hope I do too.

Overachiever :) Thats what my buddy always calls me. lol. Hey its not all bad, as others say it may lead to something but go slowly RV's can do crazy stuff to us. I love my stuff.

Ahhhhh

Just wait till you hit the solar phase of the addiction. Even though we have more power than we need, I still see and want more panel, more battery and a bigger inverter.
