I have what I think is a beginning RVing question. Decided to see what you folks think. Wife and I have difference of opinion. Not that we've ever had any of those before:)We're in process cleaning out RV and sanitizing our fresh water tank. It got lots of bad water snowbirding last year. Lots of minerals, hard water etc. All our faucets are "washerless" and water lines are pex.If bleach mixture is left in tank, lets say overnight is there any chance of bleach hurting any plumbing? In all of our RV's, if time permits not unusual for me to leave overnight. Now that wife is getting involved if any plumbing falls apart in the next 100 years it will be because I left it in overnight.:) We'll go with what the majority of answers say. :)Please help us continue our married bless of 41 years:)

RV fresh water system....tank and plumbing lines (PEX) will not be harmed by 'sanitizing' mixture f 1/4 cup bleach per 15 gallons of waterEven if left for a week or longer.

You could even run the bleach and water up the lines to the faucets and leave it overnight, it won't hurt them eather

OP - compromise. Instead of bleach use swimming pool chlorine granules. No problem leaving that overnight since it's left for longer in swimming pools of all types. :)

Do it whenever I sanitize. Fill with bleach solution in evening run through all the pipes and fittings then dump and flush in the morning.

4 hours is minimum, but overnight will not hurt anything.
