I agree that the trip to OP mentions is not going to be fun. I drove with my son from SC to SD for a move in a truck pulling a car. 1st day was to get to Kansas City in early evening after leaving SC around 5AM. We didn't arrive until 2AMish. When you factor in road construction and hills we just kept losing momentum. It was depressing to watch the ETA on the GPS keep getting further out.
You also need to factor in the size of your unit. The bigger it is the harder it may be to find available spots at campgrounds.
