Toilet

Ok so I bought a new toilet but the fitting for the water is VERY different. Help me, I have tried 4 different fittings and they don't work. Where can I get one that will work or do I have to customize.

Ok, i will help a little.. The fitting on the toilet is most likely 1/2 Inch IPT thread a very common connection. Likewise the old owe.

You can get flexible hose and double male connectors at any Lowe's Home Depot, Mennards and most hardware stores.. and that's all.

You cut the fitting off, Well a Shark Bite will attach to the cut PEX tubing and then to the flexible line.
  • When I replaced my toilet, the factory original was plumbed with 1/2 inch PEX that was crimp-ring at every connection. No disconnect point.

The new toilet had a 1/2 NPT male connection.

From Lowes we got a 1/2 PEX SharkBite to 1/2 NPT fitting and an 18" 1/2x1/2 flexible toilet supply line.

Install the Sharkbite just above the floor (pointing up) and then finish just like a household toilet install.
  • Water lines in TT's are plastic tubing, was there a fitting on the end of the old one that you were able to unscrew, or did you have to cut it off?
  • Take a picture with your phone and talk to a knowledgeable person in the plumbing section of your hardware store as to what you need.
