What's not included in sale?

Usually included is a statement from the salesman that "Oh yeah, you can tow this with your Yugo"!

(For those of you who don't remember the Yugo, insert "Mini-Cooper".)

I agree with what others have said about starter kits... They are short, both water and sewage hoses and cheap.

Our dealer included all hitches, wiring and sway bars. We also had a hitch installed on the trailer to pull the boat behind. His cost. You may want to ask about tow mirrors, again get the good ones, actually try them on your vehicle before you leave the dealer. We also got free winter storage and prep. And no it all wasn't hidden in the cost, we set the price then added, LOL. We paid 7,000 less than other dealers wanted.

My list....tool kit, look around your trailer and see what you might need for tools, we carry another in the boat. We also carry extra pins for hitches etc., we had one break inside one of the jacks, had extra! .....You can never have too much electrical cord or water hose.....Invest in a "honey tank"....
A mat for under the awning saves a lot of dirt entering. Make sure to spend a bit more and get the one that is safe for grass, no damage. Some parks will not allow anything but that type......I could go on, LOL, I still have my original "for the trailer" lists.

I strongly feel that this is the area that will tell you how much your dealer values the customer. There are certain things that are absolutely essential to the use of a RV. Propane tanks that actually have LP in them, a charged battery, a sewer hose at minimum. You should not have to ask or negotiate for these. If equipped on the RV you are considering the spare should be fully aired just like the other tires. Other things like the water hose and such should be asked about. Not a starter kit. Make a list of the items and negotiate them. Some they will ok and some not. The items that they are not going to include in the price you can either purchase or perhaps you can select them to added to the bottom line so you have one total to pay. We negotiated a discounted price for a new WD hitch to be added and installed. We bought ours new last year but we already had most of the essentials from our previous TT. But we more than doubled in size so the WD hitch was a biggy. We did not have to ask for the proprane, battery or spare. They are included standard as part of my dealer's setup. If your dealer is only going to give you the box and wheels I would question what other corners they are willing cut. This can be very important later if you ever have to go back. My dealer also gives a 10% discount on anything I buy from them for as long as I own this TT.

Six 12x12 or larger paving stones from the Home Depot garden center.

Jackstands under the frame on all 4 corners and at least two more near the wheels. Put the paving stones under the jack stands.

If it's not going to move for many years, figure out a way to hard plumb your drain valves into the dump pipe.

You can save a nice bit of money if you negotiate for the basic trailer and then after the deal is settled work on add-ons, which could include the AC, awnings, shore power cords, etc. and try to get these at the dealer's cost.

Most dealers do not want to lose a sale at this point of the process and you are heading into the winter when RV salse will drop, and the profit on the RV is what they need. The extras are not a big deal and the dealer does recover their costs. I got a 66% discount on the list price for a new AC unit this way with my last purchase.

not a POS but totally inadequate IMHO. does not have features of a multi-function surge protector. low/high voltage shut off, delayed restart to protect AC compressor, delayed initial start until system is checked out. Miswiring protection, I see yours has some LEDs indicating miswiring. do you have to visually check to see if it lights up correctly and then take action or does it do it automatically. sell yours on craigs list for $50 and buy a better one.

We just bought new and ours included: a new battery, two full LP tanks, both televisions (referring to an earlier reply), and a starter kit, which we are keeping in the front storage for emergencies. I had already bought better hoses and regulators after reading posts here.

The OP might be better off buying a relatively new unit instead of new if he is worrying about the little stuff like sewer hoses etc.

When the day comes that ours is sold somebody will get a 'turnkey' rig. All they will need to put onboard will be their clothes & food. EVERYTHING will go with it, right down to whatever gas is left for the genny.

Buying new may be nice but all the stuff needed to make that new unit usable can exceed $2000.00 real quick. If on a budget, look around for a direct sale. The owner is more likely to include much more stuff. New or used a dealer is most likely selling a stripped rig.

The only thing we didn't take on out first trip out was a flyswatter. We've since gotten more storage, but carry fewer things. We spent a lot of money on gadgets and RV stuff that we never used. Other things we upgraded or replaced with regular stuff, like a Keurig instead of our tiny RV coffeepot.
