Where to park fifth wheel while remodeling?

Hello all,
I've had this radical idea to sell my 2500sf home and renovate a fifth wheel and live in an RV park for a year while I stack the cash... Still in idea stage I've not purchased anything. So my question is...
I want to remodel it... I presume will take a week or two of working on it full days...

But here's the thing, my current home has HOA restrictions and my parents home has HOA restrictions, so where would I / could I remodel it? I just can't figure this part out. So I would sell the house, take the fifth wheel somewhere and remodel it for a week, I just don't know where it can be parked while I'm working on it... Storage facility? Any ideas? How do people do this? This would be a fifth wheel. Thanks so much!

    The lucky ones finds a farmers barn he can rent space out for remodeling.

    Or perhaps a portable garage at a friends house...

    I would think major remodeling would require to be inside out of the elements with 120VAC power for tools and things...

    If you have the space and your looking at 2 weeks just work on it at home. Talk with your close neighbors so they are aware it is temporary. Once you hear from the HOA tell them it is going to take a couple weeks to get it road worthy, Ahhhhh.....waiting on parts.

    Define remodeling? 2 weeks sounds ambitious but if it's minor stuff may be doable.

    A farmer with a pole barn is a good idea or ask around at the storage lots if they would let you connect to power and do some work. Some probably won't like it but some may be OK with it.

    These are great ideas, thanks... I guess when the time comes I will make some calls, Craigslist and try all these avenues... I am sure someone will trade their space for a few hundred dollars.... esp a storage lot, I bet I could charm someone! Where there is a will nothing will get in my way

    Unless one has a high mortgage payment......living FT in an RV is NOT necessarily cheaper ie: 'stack the cash'

    Even with RV stationary in a park you still have:
    Vehicle maintenance, fuel, ins. and registration
    RV registration and best have 'home owners' ins. coverage (just like that S&B House Ins.)
    Park site fee
    Electric bill
    PLUS all the regular bills that go alone with day to day living

    So small cost cutting on site fee(with water) and a tad on electric.
    All other costs......pretty much the same

    Agree with OB.

    Don't know many full timers that are "stacking the cash".
    If you think that living in a RV is cheaper, you need to do more research.

    Have you ever owned a RV before? Do you know what campgrounds cost to stay at?

    For me, cost cutting will be huge. My mortgage and utility bills are $2000 per month. I can sell my house, buy a fifth wheel and renovate for 25k ish (proceeds from house), and pay $400 a month to live in a park... add utilities, insurance, etc... I am still in the green by far saving over 1k+ per month which would increase my income for food and all else from 950 per month after bills to 1950+... to me that is stacking a lot more cash than I currently have, and would give me the ability to save and also take my kids places on the weekend.

    The cheapest apartments around here are 1200+ and homes are the same... this seems like a very affordable way to live.
