2 speed transfer case

Remco seems to indicate that it is towable, but you'll want to verify that.

If you want to keep it, you can install a driveshaft disconnect, but that usually voids the warranty.

The Suburban is a heavy beast. You better make sure the MH you buy can tow that much weight. Some are limited to 5000 lbs.

It's a 2014 LT, they come in both a single and 2 speed transfer, Mine is a single speed so according to the manual it cannot be towed 4 down. I'm not overly attached to it. Unfortunately just bought it a couple months ago though so didn't want to go through finding another one if i didn't have to. Its still under manufacturers warranty so I don't want to do anything that would void that. I just didn't know if its a matter of swapping one thing out for another for under $2-3k? Sounds like might be a little more involved than that. Appreciate the input

What does the Owners manual of the Suburban say? Usually there is a section on being towed.

On the GM's you need the 2 speed transfer case to get the neutral position availability to tow your Toad.

If you really REALLY like your current vehicle, yes, the 2 speed transfer case can be installed in place of the single speed.
I would recommend that you find a mechanical shift unit that will fit, instead of an electric or vacuum shift. That will mean cutting a hole in the floor for the shift lever, but the lack of gadgetry would be worth it, IMO.
All it takes is time and money.
Have you read the Owners Manual that came with your vehicle? It is entirely possible the vehicle has features that you are unaware of!

I wasn't aware of any GMT900 Burbs that were 4WD/AWD without the 2-speed transfer case. I know the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL Denalis have AWD and no transfer case, but I didn't think that was available on Suburbans, even the LTZ.

Nonetheless, if that is indeed what you have, then yes, you're better off trading it in for one that does have the 2-speed transfer case.
